Yesterday user Jim K. notified me of a change in JMRI that has had a negative impact on MR SLAM Formatter. In the latest test version of JMRI 5.9.1 and possibly in version 5.8, JMRI writes 3 new car fields in the csv files. These new fields are “return when loaded destination”, “return when loaded track”, and “route path”. When reading a csv with these new fields, MR SLAM Formatter reports the error
WARNING: File format error. The CSV file has too many columns: 31 . The program can only handle 30 columns.
No manifest is produced from the file. The same error will occur with a switch list csv as well.
While it is good for JMRI users that it is being actively upgraded, I have to determine the impact of the JMRI improvements on MR SLAM Formatter, and, if necessary, implement necessary program changes. With this latest change, rather significant changes are required to MR SLAM Formatter. I was already working on version 2.06 of MR SLAM Formatter and will incorporate a fix for the above issue in it. I hope to have the new version out by mid-July. In the interim I would suggest you avoid upgrading JMRI to versions higher than 5.7.4 until the version 2.06 of MR SLAM Formatter is released.
Thanks again to Jim K. for alerting me to this issue.
