My model railroad, The Harlan Sub, is an 18 x 18′, partially double-decked, N-Scale layout. It is set in the 1950s in Southeastern Kentucky and is based on the Louisville & Nashville’s Cumberland Valley Division. This is coal country and my layout is principally a coal hauler from the mines around Harlan, KY to the marshalling yard at Loyall, KY and then to the division point yard at Corbin, KY. It also services interchange traffic with the Norfolk & Western railroad in Norton, VA, and the Southern railroad in Middlesboro, KY. Follow my progress on my blog at: Harlan Sub blog.
