Version 1.01 coming soon!

I am excited to have completed the coding on the latest version of Model Railroad Switch List and Manifest Formatter.  The program just needs a bit more testing before release.  I plan to make it available for download before the end of June.

New Features in version 1.01

  • Larger, scrolling results window keeps record of activity during program sessions.
  • Option for Switch Lists to display cars not being moved (HOLD cars), sorted by track.
  • Multiple manifest or switch list CSV files, from the same folder, may be selected for processing.  Build multiple trains in JMRI and then come to MR SLAM Formatter and process them all with just a few mouse clicks.
  • Option to change car & loco field names (road, type, color, dest. Track, etc..).  For example, change the field name of the length field to “len” or change the type field name to “AAR”.   – Thanks to user Mark Z. for this suggestion
  • Option to truncate a car or loco field if “-(“ is detected. Thus a track named “track 1 -(for boxcar loading)” will print on the manifest and switch list as “track 1”.   Also numeric fields containing a ‘-‘ followed by a number are truncated, i.e. “track 1-1” will print as “track 1”.  This is consistent with JMRI’s practice. – Thanks to user Mark Z. for this suggestion
  • Prints red “++” at the right margin of the loco & car header lines if the car fields extend beyond the printable page.  This provides evidence on the manifest or switch list if the chosen fields extend beyond the page boundaries.
  • Updated user’s manual fully details all of the program’s features and options.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed bug that caused car data to be read into the wrong fields due to commas in the car type and other fields.
  • Resolved bug that prevented switch lists from printing when the “Print PDF after creation” check box was selected.
